Dr. Tankersley is a psychiatrist certified by The American Board of Psychiatry as a Diplomat in Psychiatry. Trained in both the medical and psychotherapeutic approaches to mental health, his approach blends both.
With over twenty five years of experience as a psychiatrist, and as a graduate of Timberlawn Psychiatric Center, a program specialized in psychodynamic psychotherapy, he is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among his areas of expertise are medication evaluation and management, individual psychotherapy, and evaluation and treatment of patients with coexisting serious medical illnesses.
Dr. Tankersley was for seventeen years affiliated with Saint Paul University Medical Center where he held several major leadership positions. His practice is now office based and limited to adults. His focus is on thorough evaluation, on flexibilty, and on an interest in developing a treatment approach that does not forget the individuality of the client. The office environment is friendly and welcoming, reflecting respect for the individual and the value of their time.
